FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How do I get tickets to a premiere?

Answer: Getting tickets to a premiere is either hard, expensive, or both. Please do not contact us asking for tickets, we do not sell them! In most cases you can't buy tickets, as premieres are not usually intended for Joe Anybody. However, they are sometimes available, and if you search the internet you may find tickets for sale. Find out who's organising the premiere and ask them for information. Sometimes, the the events are organised by charities who will be looking to raise money by selling tickets. Be aware, though, that tickets will generally not be cheap, and expect to pay upwards of £500 for one. Good places to start looking include internet auction sites such as eBay.

Tickets are also occasionally given away in magazine, radio or television competitions. Keep an eye out for these in our news section, but don't get your hopes up. Remember that a lot of people will enter, and the likelihood of winning is very small. That said, someone has to win, and it may just be you! PremiereHub will always give as much info on ticket selling and competitions as possible, so please don't e-mail us asking for more info!

Also, please remember that it isn't necessary to view the screening of the film to enjoy the premiere. Turning up in the crowd is free, and there are plenty of chances to snap pictures, and maybe even get autographs of your favourite stars. Take a look at our Guide to Premieres for helpful tips about not falling over and such like.

Question: Will [insert film here] have a premiere?

Answer: If it's happening and we know about it, the premiere will be on the site. Click here to see the premieres we have listed. Also, check the home page for rumours, news, and gossip. Conversely, if you know a premiere is happening, but it's not listed on the site, please feel free to e-mail us at gossip@premierehub.com.

Question: Hey! There are hardly any premieres listed before June 2007! What gives?

Answer: Hold your horses! We've only just sprung up, give us a chance! This site started in June 2007, and the first active premiere we recorded was Shrek 3. Premieres before this are ones we've been to personally, and the main reason we added them was to give us some test data while building the site (which is still an ongoing process, see below), as well as to give users an idea of how operate the site and what to expect. Treat these as "unofficial", though their details should be correct. Anything after (and including) Shrek 3 may be counted as being officially documented by the site.

Question: Your site is rubbish and half the features don't work! Can't you do anything right?

Answer: How rude! (to quote Jar Jar). We are always working on ways of making the site better, and features are added or improved more or less every day at the moment. Also, we started getting interest in the site before the whole thing was complete, so something may be slow. That said, everything which is accessable on the site should work, but if something goes kaput, please let us know.

We are aware that the site sometimes runs quite slowly. This is sometimes due to the design of the site, but mostly due to our current hosting situation. The former problem is being tended to, and should be fixed soon. The site will be moving to a new server in the not-too-distant future, so that should take care of the latter problem too.

With regards to the general look of the site, there are known problems when viewing this site with Microsoft Internet Explorer. It is recommended you use the Mozilla Firefox* web browser, as this tends to display the site properly. Getting the site working in all browsers is still a high priority, though this is easier said than done due to the erroneous way in which Internet Explorer handles CSS (the stuff which tells it how to display the site). Please bear with us**.

Question: My question isn't answered here, what should I do?

Answer: Don't panic! We're very friendly people, and are always eager to help. Please feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to answer any questions you pose us.

*Though we thouroughly recommend Firefox, and have been using it ourselves for many, many years, we do not endorse it and are in no way affiliated with Mozilla Corporation. We take no responsibility for anything this software does, good or bad. If you're worried that it will destroy your computer, meddle with your files, leave the toilet seat up or put the bog roll round the wrong way, don't use it. There are many other web browsers out there which will display the site properly.
